In The Veins Splatterpunk Zine

Send your brutal, hilarious, sexy stories. Make them test our boundaries, but make the sex and violence necessary. Basically, we want a good story with well developed characters and strong dialog not just gore porn.
We are NOT interested in pieces like Chuck Palahniuk’s Guts. Sorry Chuck.
We ARE into pieces like William Joseph Martin’s (Formerly Poppie Z. Brite) Exquisite Corpses. Short stories in this vein will make us happy.
We also love any opportunity to use stupid puns.
And cowboys.
We dig reading anything from the LGBTQA+ community. Diverse voices are always welcome.
Please your Daddies here at In The Veins. That’s your task.
We Accept:
Flash fiction up to 500 words. Two per submission.
Short stories up to 3000 words. One per submission.
Poems. Two per submission.
Articles about horror, splatterpunk, musicians and artists that are horror related and/or LGBT+ related.
Horror themed art. Don’t make me use AI. We’re looking for cover art and things to spice up the interior. Send us your best work. No scribblings. Three per submission. Include names of each piece.
We accept simultaneous submissions, but please inform us immediately if you are published elsewhere.
We will announce when we have closed submissions.
Submission guidelines:
Use standard formatting for submissions. Simple word document, 12 point font, times new roman, blah, blah, blah. Include word count and name/email address at top of document. Use headers and footers, page numbers, all that jazz.
In your email include the following:
Author Name:

200 word (or less) Bio:
An author photo. Unless you’re shy and don’t want us to use one. We get that. We hope you get to snuggle a puppy soon.
This is a non-paying gig. Why? Because we’re writers. Who knows a writer with spare money? However, I have hopes for the future.
